[00:00:00] Hello. Hello. Podcasting once again. [00:00:04] Got a. [00:00:05] Yeah, I'm just gonna get back into it a little bit. I think the last time I talked on this thingy, I think it was probably a month before school was getting out. So it's probably been like two or so months now and things have kind of been everywhere. Things have kind of been crazy. I want to keep it a bit more consistent, but I mean, I've been some places without service and I've kind of not felt like it at times. I have been serviced. I just kind of want to take. Oh, I just sat in a really wet pudd. [00:00:32] I just want to take some time to myself, you know. [00:00:35] And yeah, kind of a lot of excuses in there. So I really need to get into it. But with this new thing I found this should in theory be helpful to my recording. So. [00:00:46] Oh, I'll drop this. [00:00:48] But yeah, so I guess I'll kind of start. I think last time I was recording, school is about to get out. It's gonna end out. My sophomore year and I ended it out, ended it out strong. [00:01:00] Things were going pretty good, I think a little bit of stress at the end. So it's really hard to record at that point. Then summer kind of started and that's where I'm gonna kind of start. I'm gonna go into a more deep episode on something. I'll mention this, but. [00:01:14] So summer started up, things were good, I guess, kind of, I think, yeah, just kind of the first little bit of it. [00:01:27] I ended up staying at my girlfriend's house for five days and that was a lot of fun because my dad was out of town so did some more stuff at the school. So that's kind of how I started out. This summer felt like a pretty strong start. [00:01:41] And then up until then, or I guess after that, I mean, I was off to Oklahoma now. [00:01:50] Went to Oklahoma because you see, that's where my mama lives. [00:01:54] So I went there. [00:01:56] Well, not digitally go there. I drove down there and what ended up working out as my mom, she flew up from Oklahoma for my sister's birthday, which was like the day before we were planning to leave. So it was like kind of perfect. [00:02:09] So she flew up for my sister's birthday and then me and my mom, we drove down to Oklahoma together. [00:02:19] Now to the part of Oklahoma we were going, it's around a 24 hour drive. So it was a pretty solid long drive. And we did the drive in 28 hours. So that was four hours. [00:02:30] That four hours extra includes sleeping gas and food. So pretty solid. I'D say all together. And I didn't really feel that rushed, honestly, for, like, what we did. My mom was a trooper and did a bit of the driving. She drove through pretty much the entire night. I drove from like five to like eight or something, but then did some of the random driving in there. But she. She was the trooper. She took like an hour rush break at a point and then just kept on going from there. So very, very impressive for mama. [00:03:00] Then after that trip, I don't think there was anything too crazy on the way down, like, to Oklahoma with my mom. [00:03:08] I think it was interesting for me seeing all the different, like, names, which I thought were kind of funny. Like, the roads. There's just like a bunch of random, like, road. I think one was called, like, something Spider Road. And I was like, oh, that's kind of interesting. And like, everything is called, like. I forgot what it was, like County Lane or something. I don't know. And that's not right. Whatever point is, some of the road names. I was like, man, this is really original. But. So that was fun going down to Oklahoma. Then what ended up happening is I was staying down there. Obviously summer's still gone at the point I'm recording this, but I'm kind of just talking about the point up to summer. [00:03:42] So then made down to Oklahoma. I spent around two weeks down there with my mom, My mom and stepdad working a lot. So it was really just me hanging out kind of. [00:03:52] Or just hanging out down there. Had my car down there, which is really nice. Oh, yeah. The only reason I drove. [00:04:01] The other reason I drove is because I need to get my Oklahoma license and the car registered down there. Just because that was easier for everything. [00:04:09] So that was another helpful thing. So just kind of waiting on that. And while they were working, my mom and stepdad and did a lot of. That's where I just kind of spent the time hanging out. [00:04:20] Or I probably should have been podcasting, but, you know, I just really want to take some time, just lay around. I slept a lot, stayed up, watched some movies. And I remember all that I did, but just kind of waiting around until my mom and stepdad got there. [00:04:36] Then he kind of did some stuff. I think we went to, like, some restaurants. I did a lot of driving around with my stepdad. Just be hanging out down there, doing whatever, and just kind of like how I was in spring break. And then one of the days we went to the zoo there. So that was a lot of fun. It's kind of interesting, though. It's just Kind of a light up. [00:04:55] None of the animals were actually out. So it was kind of like fun I guess, but really just, just was there nothing all that extraordinary? I guess. [00:05:07] Okay, that's not fair. It was cool. It's just funny to me seeing the zoo with no actual animals out and it was all just like these light up animals, like blown up like whatever, just covered in lights. But it was still, it's still entertaining to see. Interesting. I'd like to go to the zoo there when it's not. [00:05:31] When it's not just light up animals and there's like real animals as well. But yeah, so that was that. I think those are kind of highlights of like my time down in Oklahoma. [00:05:45] From there there wasn't really anything else. [00:05:48] Like I'm trying to think. [00:05:51] I think there was fine. Like it was a little fun overall, like 100%. But then now it kind of comes to the story where things kind of changed a little bit. A little bit of a surprise now. [00:06:05] Well, okay, yeah, I guess I'll start here. So I got a, I got a call or I guess a text from this place called Camp Myviden back where I live. It was kind of like, I don't really know exactly all the details behind it still, but basically I got a message asking if I could work here, which was like, might have been the biggest surprise of all time considering like I'm not the age. I can work but usually they don't hire people my age. Like usually. [00:06:36] And then I also didn't apply or anything and you know, I was just kind of like interesting circumstances behind it all. Basically I got a, got a call or a text and I decided. [00:06:52] It's 100% like what I wanted to do. I wanted to make it happen. [00:06:56] So with some convincing of my mom, I was supposed to be down in Oklahoma for solid three or four weeks. I ended up being down there for two. [00:07:04] And now it was just the trouble figuring out how I was going to get food back. [00:07:09] So we ended up saying, I ended up saying yes. My mom said yes was like, okay, we're going to make it happen. Ours are going to be late at that point. But I think it was a Wednesday when they reached out and they wanted me to be there Sunday, like the next coming Sunday. I was like, there's no way that's going to happen. Like I don't know how I'm going to get back. I don't know how gas is going to work. I don't know. They don't have the details behind anything. I don't even know what's happening. [00:07:32] And there just was no chance that was going to happen. So they, they extended it to the next following Sunday after which would give me some time to at least spend some more time with my mom and then figure out how am I actually going to get back. [00:07:49] I am so tired. [00:07:51] Keep yawning. Let's see how that works. Anyways, so from there, see, yes, I was just figuring out how I was going to get back. So I started doing some calling and figuring out like if it was even possible. First off, my mom had said, oh, I guess I was kind of trying to figure out if it's possible. [00:08:12] While my mom was thinking about it, she ended up saying yes. I was like, okay, I really need to figure out who, how this is going to be possible. [00:08:18] I need to figure out gas money. My dad ended up, you know what, I'm going to pay him back. But at least covering that gas around, like it's about 400 bucks all the way back. And then the big thing was also figuring out, I mean first of all there was food but like how am I gonna go back? Mom didn't feel comfortable with me going back by myself. So now what's, how am I gonna get back? Because obviously she's not gonna go back and fly back out. She doesn't have time for that or the money. So my buddy, I'm gonna kind of go into our road trip. [00:08:51] My buddy, she ended up flying out and we made a road trip out of it. So we took a five day road trip on the way back and that was kind of, I'm gonna have a whole episode kind of dedicated to that. It was our five day road trip back from Oklahoma, did a lot on it, had a lot of adventures and got a lot of time spent in tents and a lot of time living off of peanut butter and jelly and just a whole lot of fun I guess. But so that happened and yeah, I'm going to dedicate an episode to that. I'll work on that. But so spent five day road trip back to homeland of north Idaho. [00:09:33] And I mean made it. It's kind of, it's kind of scary at times but, but just like I don't know if maybe scared, I don't know, I guess I just say that just being off on our own and we're younger and all the details involved in it, but it was definitely a good adventure and I'm really happy we did it now. It brings me to present day and what's happening in my life. Now I think today is like mid July at the point. Yeah, it's like middle of July as I'm recording this. And honestly, I only got so much left in the summer. [00:10:07] Oh, less than a month before I start back at uca. But now I'm working at this camp and it's. So far my experience has been pretty crazy. I didn't even say what I'm doing here. I work in the kitchen, so that's a whole lot of fun. I kind of get teased all day and all the things, but because I make stupid mistakes, I feel like a lot of the times. But that's okay. It's all part of the learning experience. [00:10:29] But it's a lot of fun being here. It's right on a lake and it's really nice getting the lake. And I'll probably dedicate an episode of more stuff involving myoden and like kind of somewhere my past with it, just with all that. [00:10:42] But yeah, it's kind of. It's really weird for me. I'll just mention stuff briefly like being here, working here now because I went to camp here so many years and now I'm like working here and at an age that I could, you know, still be a camper. So it's a little bit weird for me, but definitely a lot of fun and I've been really happy. I've been doing it. It's a lot of work. [00:11:03] I'll get back. I'll talk about that on another episode. Just like take the amount of work, the actual content. But yeah, so it's been kind of a journey this last summer, kind of making the most out of it. Most out of it. It's been pretty busy. I was thinking this summer would just meet be me kind of finding a job and. Well, that was also kind of another thing. I figured out a job in Oklahoma where I applied to this place or at these like Bronx. And then I got accepted, but. [00:11:35] Or no, I guess. Sorry. I got an interview. I think my interview running great. But they never responded back to me. So that was kind of a bummer. But then this frozen yogurt place reached out to me. There was some potential there. But then I ended up getting the job offered here. So yeah, came all the way up. [00:11:52] So that's kind of been my summer so far. About a bit over halfway through. [00:11:58] Pretty, pretty crazy. I think I've just been thinking like, man, last summer, like just the comparison a lot. So much has changed since then and I got a bunch of buddies here, I got my girlfriend here. And it's been really great experience so far. I think there's so more to come. It's definitely very exhausting. I'll kind of get into that, probably another episode, probably start wrapping up, end it here. [00:12:21] I'm gonna get back in the recording, figure out how I can actually drop this episode just because it's been, it's been hard here being really busy and there's like no service at parts and like the only place that really is service is the staff lounge. There's always people in here. But I think I found a new way to do this that doesn't require like service because I've tried recording some other ones and then it just cuts out on me with the thing I've been using. But I got new idea now, new potential and no excuses now. So I really got to get this going. But yeah. All right. Thanks for listening. [00:12:52] Jaden's podcasting is out.
